Vitara-V 20mg (Vardenafil)
Manufacturer:
Signature Pharmaceuticals Limited
Formulation:
Oral Tablet
Strength:
20 mg
Pack Size:
Typically available in packs of 10 tablets.
Indications
Vitara-V 20mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, which helps men achieve and maintain an erection in response to sexual stimulation.
- Not for use in women or children.
- Does not increase sexual desire but facilitates the physical process of achieving an erection.
Mechanism of Action
Vardenafil, the active ingredient, is a PDE5 inhibitor. It blocks the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which normally breaks down cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). By inhibiting PDE5, vardenafil helps increase the level of cGMP, which relaxes smooth muscle and dilates blood vessels in the penis, promoting blood flow and enabling an erection when sexually aroused.
Dosage and Administration
- Recommended Dose: One 20mg tablet taken 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity.
- Maximum Dose: Do not exceed one dose in 24 hours.
- Food and Alcohol: Can be taken with or without food. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice, as it can interfere with the drug’s effectiveness.
- Sexual Stimulation: An erection will occur only with sexual arousal; it is not an aphrodisiac.
